We know you'll love raw cacao

People the world over just love cacao – chocolate in its purest form! Perhaps it’s the ‘love hormones’ it helps the body create when eaten, or maybe cacao’s irresistibly complex flavour. Either way, we are pretty sure more wars would have been fought over this wonderful ingredient if everyone wasn’t so loved up from eating so much of the stuff!

ROAR cacao products (Cacao Beans, Cacao Nibs and Cacao Powder) are all raw – not roasted! – leaving a potent array of antioxidants and nutrients intact. They have been lightly fermented and sun-dried to help develop their unique flavour.

Cacao has a much more complex flavour profile than cocoa and often tastes ever so slightly sour due to the fermentation process. The fruity and chocolatey characteristics of cacao and reduced bitterness mean you can eat more of this yummy food without it being overpowering and use less sweetener to balance the flavour, making it a much healthier option.

As mentioned above, Cacao has been shown to have more flavonoids (anti-oxidants) than its roasted cousin cocoa. It also is one of the best natural food sources of readily available magnesium and has good amounts of protein and iron. Not to mention those lovely love producing hormones!
