This warming drink is like a warm blanket on those cold nights. Just throw the ingredients into a blender (strain if you can be bothered) and sip yourself into a chocolatey bliss.
This drink also goes down a treat with the little ones – but substitute in some coconut milk (to add more creaminess) for the maca powder. This is because maca powder is a powerful adaptogen (hormone regulator) and if therefore not an ingredient recommended for young ones.

Cacao & Hazelnut Mylk Hot Chocolate
Cacao & Hazelnut Mylk Hot Chocolate (serves 2)
- 60g ROAR activated hazelnuts
- 1 tbsp ROAR cacao powder
- 1 tbsp ROAR maca powder (sub in 3 tbsp coconut milk for kids or people with sensitivities)
- 2 tsp ROAR coconut sugar
- 2 cups hot water
Throw all the ingredients into a blender (ideally a high power one) and blend for a good couple of minutes – as you want the hot chocolate to be as smooth as possible and extract as much flavour as possible.
If you really want the best result you can strain through a muslin cloth or fine strainer. But it will still taste fine without doing this – just the texture won’t be as creamy.
You can also re-heat on the stove to desired temperature. Try not to bring to the boil as this will effect some of the bioflavonoids in the cacao powder.
